Insero Talent Solutions is recruiting a Controller for a manufacturing company in Rochester, NY.
JOB SUMMARY
To be a member of a team performing and overseeing the financial functions of the business. Reports to President.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
- Responsible for all external and internal financial reporting.
- Responsible for all tax reporting and compliance issues.
- Responsible for maintenance of all internal financial controls.
- Responsible for costing and variance analysis.
- Responsible for all financial budgeting and forecasting.
- Responsible for treasury functions and loan compliance issues.
- Assist Human Resources in all compliance issues.
- Assist IT in all security maintenance issues.
- Learn and master business operating software.
- Meet due dates established internally and externally.
- Responsible for the integrity of inventory, in both quantity and valuation.
- Work as a management team member.
- Provide analysis and advice regarding financial impact of decisions.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Backup to all areas in the accounting area.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise members in the accounting function.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a process manufacturing environment. Experience with a manufacturer of automotive components is a plus.
- Working knowledge of cost accounting.
- Working knowledge of inventory accounting.
- Working knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
- Experience with variance analysis.
- Experience with budgeting and forecasting.
- Understanding of internal controls.
- Expertise using Microsoft Excel.
- Extensive technical accounting knowledge in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or similar certification is a plus.
- Experience with total quality management (TQM) is a plus.
