HUGO BOSS as one of the leading premium fashion brands is founding a subsidiary with the aim of bringing all material leftovers of the HUGO BOSS AG into sustainable use. The subsidiary will operate under an own branding (current working title "REFAB") and with an own organisational set-up.
The
Director of International Logistics & Trade Compliance is responsible for international transportation, customs compliance and FTZ operation (currently inactive). The incumbent will effectively communicate across all levels of the organization and cross-functionally to include Distribution, Sales, and Executive Leadership. In this role you will identify, collect, organize and analyze information to ensure timely product movement from X-Factory through delivery to the Distribution Center.
What you can expect: Responsibilities include, but not limited to the following: - Analyze and determine the correct tariff classification (Harmonized Tariff Schedule Number - HTS#) of all products
- Prepare, file and, administer all required declarations and forms pertaining to import shipments, including the preparation and filing of any required reports, certificates and supporting documents for the Bureau of Customs and Border Protection or any other government agency having an interest in the import transaction
- Review and implement new policies and procedures, directives and work instructions governing import compliance ensuring proper dissemination to all affected parties
- Supplier Management duties include establish and maintain SOP, and interface with freight forwarders, US Customs Officer's, Customs Brokers and external customers
- Liaise with legal customs attorneys to address legal compliance issues
- Manage Recordkeeping, keeping them current in a correct, orderly, itemized manner, including retention of all correspondence and other records relating to customs business
- Ensure compliance with applicable U.S. Import Laws and regulations through the development and maintenance of an effective compliance program
- Develop and deliver training to the various departments in the company on import compliance, C-TPAT, proposed rules or legislation, new government programs and requirements
- Perform periodic compliance assessments to ascertain the effectiveness of the import compliance department
- Update and maintain Import Compliance Manual, stay abreast of proposed legislation governing import compliance
- Conduct periodic import compliance assessments including the Customs Trade Partnership against Terrorism (CTPAT) Program; evaluate the effectiveness of all departments to established policies and procedures
- Apply for U.S. Customs Rulings (Binding) on matters pertaining to classification, value and country of origin
- Facilitate the expeditious processing and movement of import shipments
- Ensure that all Customs Bonds, POA, and other government agency licenses remain current
- Act as point person in the USA for Consumer Product Safety Commission (CSPS)
- Lead the Inbound Ops team to achieve operational success to include; quality, productivity, safety, cost, planning, labor allocation, and work prioritization
- Communicate frequently with leaders across the organization to discuss process improvements and ensure efficiency between departments
- Determine and implement short/long term objectives for all inbound processes
- Coordinate with Sales, Brand Management, and GSO for planning, purchase orders, and global replenishment
- Update delivery preorder status and report status to Sales
- Follow critical path to place purchase orders against sales preorders
Your profile: - Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Operations Management or, Industrial Management
- 7-10 years of experience in similar role
- 5-10 years management experience in a high volume distribution environment
- Well versed in U.S. Customs regulations
- Able to work flexible hours
- Leadership skills with a track record of success
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Great team-building skills and impeccable integrity
- Able to prioritize multiple initiatives/tasks with a strict focus on deadlines
- Being flexible and having a strong sense of urgency
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- SAP experience a plus
