Russo's On The Bay, a renowned Italian-American restaurant located in Howard Beach, NY, is seeking Dining Room Runners for immediate hire. This position requires excellent interpersonal skills, impeccable attention to detail, and a strong work ethic. The ideal candidate should be a team player who is able to work in a fast-paced environment and ensure every guest has a memorable dining experience.

Our operations involve servicing multiple event spaces across both Russo’s On the Bay and Vetro Restaurant and Lounge. We have a dedicated staff allotted for both locations and flexibility in our scheduling to afford our employees additional opportunities. As a member of the Russo’s On the Bay team, you will be scheduled for a wide range of corporate, social and wedding affairs and will be trained to deliver the outstanding level of service that has made the company renown within the industry.

As a Dining Room Runner at Russo's On The Bay, you will work alongside the wait staff and assist in delivering food and drinks to tables in a timely and efficient manner. You'll be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the dining room, setting tables and ensuring each guest has everything they need throughout their meal. The position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with your team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with serving & bussing during event cocktail hours
• Arranges table settings and maintains presentations throughout the event. This includes refilling glassware, providing utensils and any additional request by guests.
• Completes pre-event set up and additional tasks as requested by the Maitre’D.
• Performs basic event details such as removes bus boxes and linens from service stations in assigned section.
• Ensures guests receive a memorable and enjoyable experience at all times, providing the best services not limited to being prompt, responsive, and providing results.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a high-paced restaurant environment preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
• Must be a team player with a positive and upbeat attitude.
• Able to work in fast pace environment.
• Able to follow direction in a timely manner.
• A High School diploma or equivalent
