Classification Pay Scale In compliance with SB 1162, Western University of Health Sciences is providing a pay scale for this position. The pay scale reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Within this range, the individual pay is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and work location. Please note that the compensation details listed reflects the base salary only.

Job Summary We invite you to TEMPORARILY join in the innovative and diverse faculty at the Western University of Health Sciences College of Veterinary Medicine (WesternU-CVM). We are seeking a colleague to contribute to the college's mission to educate veterinary professionals and advance knowledge to address the contemporary needs of society. This team member will:
- Provide content expertise in Nutrition, contributing to scholarly advancement of the science, and incorporating this discipline in the curriculum.
- Assume various teaching roles, when required, to meet curricular demands and as assigned by the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.
- Provide support in the training of students in all levels of the DVM curriculum.
- Serve on college and university standing committees.

- Knowledge of educational needs for contemporary veterinary practice.
- Knowledge and skills in his/her discipline.
Required Qualifications EDUCATION: A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, PhD, or equivalent degree and advanced training or experience in nutritional sciences are required. Diplomate status or eligibility for certification examination in Veterinary Nutrition / Veterinary Internal Medicine (Nutrition) is desirable. EXPERIENCE: The college is seeking an optimal match between individual qualifications and assessed ability to contribute to the College’s mission. All qualified candidates will be considered.

Job Duty
1. Contribute to the training of veterinary students in Nutrition (40% FTE ):
a. Participate in the curricular activities for Year 1 and 2 students, including but not limited to content expertise in Nutrition, facilitation of Problem-Based Learning ( PBL ) activities, clinical skills laboratories, and other ancillary activities as determined in the curriculum development process.
b. Provide leadership and/or instruction for Year 3 and 4 courses and clinical activities.

2. Pursue scholarly endeavors and professional self-development, with opportunities to engage in research, as negotiated (40% FTE if tenure track; 25% FTE if non-tenure):
a. If tenure track: Develop a self-sustaining research program and participate in the
development of post- DVM training programs.
b. Participate in research mentoring of veterinary students.
c. Participate in local, national, and/or international continuing education programs
